Everything You Need to Know About the "Airplane Wi-Fi" Button on iOS
This button allows the device to connect to Public Wi-Fi, available for iOS 16.5+ when using Auto DNS only.
Note:
Activating this feature temporarily turns off the DNS.
An email will be sent to the "security email" listed on the account when used.
How to Activate This Feature:
Ensure the security email address is different from the default email listed in the account.
Tip: Add a period to the first part of the email address to make it "different" or use a parent's email address for a childโs account.
MB Portal:
Go to the Info tab and set a security email.
Go to the Main tab, find Airplane Wi-Fi Button (beta), and turn it ON.
How to Use This Feature:
Before Takeoff:
While still on the ground and with reception, open the MB smart app.
Click on the "Airplane Wi-Fi" button. Do this at a point when you are ready to stop getting reception but before takeoff.
Activate Airplane Mode:
When the timer finishes counting down, activate "Airplane Mode" in your phone's settings.
Leave the device in Airplane Mode.
During the Flight:
Connect to the airline's Wi-Fi using the required captive portal.
Once connected, the filter will revert to its regular settings.
